Johnny Rotten (John Lydon b.1956 London)
Johnny Rotten is best known as the lead singer of the controversial British punk
band Sex Pistols which lasted from 1975-1978. The frontman of British Punk.
When the band split, John moved onto a new band Public Image Limited (PiL).
PiL continued on and off for another 3 decades, the line-up constantly changed in
line with the style and content of the music, but always with Lydon’s cutting and
quick-witted lyrics and unique vocal delivery.

Despite having been embroiled in and losing a recent lawsuit about not allowing
permission for the Sex Pistols tracks to be featured in upcoming TV mini-series
‘Pistol’ (directed by Danny Boyle), John Lydon continues to live up to his on-stage
persona and mythology as Johnny Rotten. Uncompromising, antagonistic and
legendary, a true punk.
