Description

KWATZ is a small T-shirt label producing limited editions of unique multi-colour designs individually printed by hand in a tiny studio. We cater for people who appreciate the difference between mass produced machine prints and the quality of original artisan work. The process is not mechanised at all – every print really is unique – the screens for printing are hand held, designs are hand dawn and all stencils are intricately hand-cut from paper, only producing small runs of each print before the paper stencils become unusable.

Amanda Roseveare, the artist behind KWATZ, seeks to bring new vigour to the T-shirt with a small range of flamboyant, distinctive designs inspired by the art and folklore of Africa and the colour and energy of modern street culture. T-shirts are an ideal vehicle for Amanda’s art, always a popular piece of clothing and a great canvas for ideas as ‘wearable art’.

The prints are soft, durable and colour fast, screen printed in ravishing colours using water based inks. Our standard T-shirt model is a top quality semi-fitted unisex classic 100% cotton jersey T-shirt, a wardrobe staple that can be worn all year round. It features a crew neck, short sleeves and is slightly longer in length.
